Data Readiness
Every executive conversation about AI implementation eventually arrives at the same question: is our data ready?
The answer, for most organizations, is partially. And partially is enough to start.
Data readiness doesn't mean every system is clean, every definition is reconciled, and every integration is optimized. That standard would keep most organizations waiting indefinitely. What it means is that the data your high-friction, high-impact process depends on, the one you’re targeting for 3.0 improvement, is accessible, consistently structured, and semantically coherent enough for an agent to work with reliably. Start there. Prove the foundation. Then expand.
This reframe matters because data debt is real but it isn't uniform. Some processes sit on surprisingly solid data foundations. Others are built on assumptions nobody has tested in years. Inconsistent field formats, orphaned records, and conflicting definitions across systems don't just produce bad outputs. They erode trust in the agent itself.

Governance & Trust Readiness
Governance is the conversation most organizations defer until something goes wrong. That's understandable. You can't fully govern what you haven't yet deployed. But the organizations getting this right aren't building governance after the fact, they're answering the hard questions before agents are operating at scale.
Consider a what-if. If an agent adjusted a forecast, a plan, or a customer priority based on signals or conversation analysis, who's accountable when it proves wrong? Most executives pause here. The accountability hasn't been assigned, because the conversation hasn't happened yet.
